You Can Create a Custom Dining Table!

Did you ever get all excited about some creative idea only to get stuck on the technical part? You find table top plans that are within your time, talent and resource budget, so to speak. But then reality rears its ugly head and you realize you need something to hold that tabletop up. And the last time you checked you didn’t have any welding equipment in your garage!

Don’t let a lack of tools or know-how keep you from making your own custom table!

Making a table isn’t something most people do everyday. But, trust me, breaking it down into three steps will change everything! Because the “hardest” part is choosing (or making) a table top. After that, I’m going to show you how it’s smooth sailing! You know, easy peazy.  Well, whatever you call it, there really are just three steps to making your custom table…

  1. Choose (or make) a table top
  2. Choose a (or make) a table base
  3. Attach the table top to the table base

You feel better already, right?

You know what the biggest problem is in this information age of ours?  INFORMATION OVERLOAD!  For me, the hardest part is knowing where to begin. That’s where the steps come in; and step one is the table top.  To help you decide on one to fit your style and  budget (and how much DIY energy you have) check out 4 Ideas For Your Next Table Top.

All there is to do now is think about what you want in a table. Picture the table top you could see your family having dinner on. Or friends gathering around for some laughs and your favorite dessert they brought with them. I’m daydreaming here, so let’s say your friends brought dinner AND dessert!

After your brain is bursting with great ideas for your table top, we’ll take off into the world of table bases. All that will be left to do after that is to put the two together! Before you know it you’ll be posting pictures of your new table with the hashtags, #lookmom! or #lookwhatImade. And, of course, #ReclaimedSwag. 🙂
